Train for Excellence
K9 Search Dog Training 2012
Hog Park, Wyoming
June 28 - July 1
The state's best trainers are once again training in Wyoming! Wally Hendricks, cadaver expert, Kyle Rosentreter, area search and trailing expert, Lorrie Wnuk, trailing, scent, theory and crisis management specialist, will be your instructors again this year.
Are you a true Search and Rescue professional? The training set up for this year will be very realistic to an actual search ICS camp! Tents and campers are welcome and outhouses are provided. There is no other lodging, so get your SAR packs ready and begin to experience a real SAR setting! A complete list of what you will need to bring will be included with your acceptance upon registration.
Meals are on your own, however a group setting at meals is always encouraged!
Coolers are always welcome and a lawn chair is a priority! Classroom setting will require a lawn chair, we want you comfy. Please arrive Wednesday evening as class starts Thursday morning.
Clinics to include:
Scent theory: The real reason our dogs noses work, what are we thinking?
Basic trailing and tracking: Start a new dog if they test well the first day.
Advanced trailing and tracking: Work your dog that knows its stuff, learn what else you can do and get better
Cadaver classes: See if your dog has an aversion or a real talent for this work. More advanced dogs get to show their stuff.
Area Search: Pattern searching with your dog is very rewarding and can produce fast results, start a dog or improve your handling skills in this area.
Stress Management and Critical Incident Response: What's going on in your head when you find that dead guy? Healthy dealings with stress.
Wilderness Survival for 2012: All good stuff here!
Those of you who have joined this training in the past know the quality it provides!
Once you have registered for the training you will receive a packet of information listing supplies needed for the training, requirements for housing your dog and location information with directions.
Space is going to be limited so register soon, first come first serve basis.
All K9 handlers are welcome. All states may participate!
